Thing on These Things was chosen by Parabola magazine as one the 100 best spiritual books of the 20th century. This is an excellent introduction to Krishnamurtis teachings for the young and the old. Consisting of Krishnamurtis talks and discussions with students, teachers and parents, these talks touch upon areas such as education, ambition, love, creativity, ambition, beauty, conflict, relationship, God, learning etc. Krishnamurti states, in unmistakable terms, that the function of education is not different from the purpose of human life.
About the Author J. Krishnamurti (1895 - 1986) is regarded as one of the greatest philosophers and religious teachers of all times. For more than sixty years he travelled the world over, giving talks and holding dialogues not as a guru but as a friend. His teachings are not based on book knowledge and theories and therefore they communicate directly to anyone seeking answers to the present world crisis as well to the eternal problems of human existence.
We based our evaluation of book condition on the following criteria:
* New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unread copy in perfect condition.
* Like New: An apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust cover is intact; pages are clean and are not marred by notes or folds of any kind.
* Very Good: A copy that has been read, but remains in excellent condition. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting, but may contain a neat previous owner name. The spine remains undamaged.
* Good: A copy that has been read, but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact. The spine may show signs of wear. Pages can include limited notes and highlighting, and the copy can include "From the library of" labels or previous owner inscriptions.
* Acceptable: A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text.
